Blind Bargains Qast 48: This Year in Assistive Technology 2015

We've been counting down the top 10 Blind Bargains stories of 2015, and now it's time for the podcast crew to take over and reveal the best of the best. Listen in as Joe and J.J. are joined by Shelly Brisbin and Chancey Fleet as they discuss the big movers and shakers of 2015 and look ahead to 2016. Will Netflix take the crown with audio-described dramas and comedies? Or will a story from the world of screen readers end up on top. The only way to know is to listen.
Thanks to our panel which included our guests as well as Jeff Bishop, Ricky Enger, and Jamie Pauls for voting on our 2015 list. Whether you agree or disagree with our choices, leave your comments below. We're back to regular podcasts (whatever that means) next week.

Gentlemen. One of your guests repeatedly referred to the company purchasing Freedome Scientific as a venture capital firm. This is quite wrong. It is, a private equity firm. A private equity firm is what, for some reason, we now call a leveraged buyout firm. The two types of companies could hardly be more different. Suffice it to say, that if a private equity firm buys a company you are dealing with you would be well adivsed to make new arrangements. They are interested solely in making a return on the money they invested and rarely care about long term plans or effects. You have been warned. Kevin Barry
