Breaking: Flicktype Keyboard for iOS Changes Pricing, Pivots from Subscription Model

As of January 11, Flicktype is no longer a subscription-based app. The app can now be purchased in the App Store for $2.99

Flicktype, which was spun off of the very popular Fleksy keyboard, has greatly improved the speed, accuracy and ease of typing on the touchscreen for blind and low-vision users. Previously, Flicktype was available with both monthly and yearly subscriptions. However, Kpaw, Flicktype's developers, have decided to release the app on iPhone for a one-time fee of $2.99, and have also released a separate (similarly priced) watch app which is being advertised to both blind and sighted watch users. The developers have mentioned that the watch app will also be voiceOver accessible.

Users who have previously subscribed at either the monthly or yearly options will be able to cancel their subscriptions and use the new app for free in perpetuity; they will not need to re-purchase the app.

The watch version of the app is not currently accessible, though a beta version fixes this, and full accessibility to the App Store version of the app is expected in the near future.

Buy the watch app "Flicktype Notes" now for $2.99 on the App Store
