KNFB Reading Technology has released the latest version of the KNFB Reader Mobile, version 6.1.9. A free update for current users, this version includes the much-anticipated translation feature, where a user can take a picture of text in another language and have it read back in English. Approximately 16 language packs are available. A completely new menu structure is featured in this version, replacing the hotkey approach used in version 5. New voices from Acapella are also included, and you can now separately select a reading and program voice. The scanning, recognition, and speech is also more responsive in this version. The Nokia 6220 Classic is now supported as an alternate phone model to the N82. Here's a link to the Release Notes (in PDF) to learn about the other improvements. Update: The page now says Download temporarily disabled. We apologize for the inconvenience. We'll post an update when it returns.
