We continue to post coverage of the APH release of their 2010 annual report, which gives clues to the future progress for the nonprofit organization. According to the report, several enhancements are planned for the Book Port Plus, APH's portable book reader based on the hardware of the Plextalk Pocket. Planned for the next year are support for several new file formats including RTF, DOCX, protected WMA, ePub, and Openlibrary.org files. In addition, the ability to play podcasts and Internet radio stations is also being explored, as the unit does include a Wi-fi chip. Other improvements, such as the ability to delete single files and a version of Book Transfer compatible with both PC and Macs is on the table, according to the report. We've linked to the report, which gives many more details on this and other projects.
