6dot Seeking Braille Labeler Funding through Kickstarter, One Third of $50,000 Goal Raised

Kickstarter, the web-based platform which allows for individuals and companies to raise money for their projects, is now hosting a page for the 6dot Braille Labeler. The $50,000 goal seems ambitious on the surface, but 6dot has so far brought in over $16,000 with over two weeks to go. Funding will be used to jumpstart the development of the 6dot Braille Labeler, a handheld device which prints braille label on labeling tape using a standard braille keyboard. We interviewed 6dot at CSUN back in March. Like all Kickstarter projects, donors will receive rewards depending on the amount donated ranging from brailled items to a signed copy of Erik Weihenmayer's book. If you donate, the money will not be taken unless the goal is reached.
