Our Favorite Black Friday Site
It used to be that Thanksgiving Day would be the day where we sat around the table looking at the Black Friday ads. Those days have come and gone, however. Check out BFAds.net, our favorite of the Black Friday ads sites. As with some other sites, their mobile version is especially screen reader friendly, so we've linked to it instead. Many ads are already posted, with more destined for the site in the coming days.

Dealing with Vision Loss, a New Book and Resource
What do you do when you are told your child is blind? What skills are the most important for a newly-blinded person to learn? What adaptations and technology is available? For many of us, these questions may have obvious answers, but for someone new to blindness, they are a mystery. Fred Olver's new book, Dealing with Vision Loss, is said to answer these questions and many more. Olver, who is blind himself, has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts and Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in Blind
Rehabilitation Teaching from Western Michigan University. According to the site's home page, "His life
experience as well as his work as a Rehabilitation Teacher and developing
technology and training for individuals in the use of talking computers and
software, uniquely qualifies him to speak to the many questions about vision
loss." In addition, a large list of resources is included. The book is available in many formats, including print, CD, and EBook. The latter, presented in Adobe PDF, is the best value at $15.95. An MP3 version of the book is also in the works.

Way To Go Sendero Group, Sounds Like You Have a Winner
Sendero Group has released a version of Sendero GPS without the GPS. Titled Way to
Go
, the product includes the features of its GPS product without the actual tracking
support. Think of it as the virtual mode portion of navigational software. In addition,
you can attach audio narratives or sounds to specific points of interest, a feature
that we hope will find its
way into the regular GPS product. The cost for Way to Go
is $749 for the download or a bit more for a version shipped to your door. The download
is a better value, even if you choose to buy your own 8GB compact flash card and
download the maps.
