Security Alert: Paypal Fishing Scam
We wanted to alert you to a scam involving fake Paypal transaction notices via Email which was reported by one of our users.
The message was pretending to be an official notice from Paypal that payment was sent for an ad. It included several red flags, however including this sentence which perhaps was the most obvious: "payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been "APPROVED"but
will not be credited to your account until the shipment reference/tracking number
is sent to us for shipment verification and this is done to secure both the buyer
and the seller against any fraudulent activities."" Paypal would not hold your money until a tracking number has been sent. If you receive a payment notice from Paypal or another service and are unsure if it is legitimate, log into the website directly and look through your recent transactions to verify the purchase.
While these types of scams are nothing new, it's always good to exercise due diligence when receiving Email related to a amoxicillin over the counter to ensure it is not a fraud. The text of the message is below. Names have been removed for security.

Welcome Back to Blind Bargains
After a bit of a break over the summer, we've returned to bring you the deals, news, and resources you've come to expect. Watch for new features, improvements, and much more in the coming year. Welcome back to another exciting year of Blind Bargains.
Browsing Old Deals now Works Better
Thanks to reader Nancy, we've fixed some of our pages when browsing through past deals. Formerly, you couldn't browse through more than one page of old deals. The links at the bottom of the page now work, however, so you can browse through deals back to our beginning in 2006.
Blind Bargains Introduces New Categories
In an effort to help you find what you're looking for more quickly, we've introduced several new categories. If you're looking for a place to keep your files, try the hard drives, memory cards, and flash drives categories under storage. Our computers/hardware category now includes sections for desktops, laptops, portable devices, peripherals, and printers and embossers. There's a special cell phone category under phones. And finally, the useful websites and links we often post will now fall in our new resources category. You can view posts by category by selecting the browse link from the menu at the top of any page.
Daily Deals now Includes Top Five
If you're a Daily Deals subscriber, you may have noticed a new feature. We now include the five most popular deals at the bottom of each newsletter with links to jump to them directly. If you're not a Daily Deals subscriber, use the link on this post to join the announce-only list.
New User Submissions Page
We've made it easier for you to submit items for sale, deals, and business information. Our new user submission wizard will guide you to the appropriate forms and help you get published on our site. Try it out, and let us know what you think.
Problems Sending Mail to AT&T Users
We are currently having problems delivering mail to AT&T and Belsouth users, because their server is blocking our mail as spam. We are doing what we can to get the block removed, though we also encourage any effected users to call and complain as well. We recommend signing up for Daily Deals using GMail or another service with sensible spam-blocking practices. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Beta: New Search Page
We've expanded our search page to include more results. Now, in addition to items from our site, we'll run a search on many popular online stores to find additional results. This means you can now search for just about anything and get a result. We're working on the layout of the other results, as they come from a third-party site and aren't as pretty as we'd like. Try it out, and let us know how it works out for you.
Blind Bargains Auction Gateway Expands to Canada, UK, Australia
For nearly two years, the Blind Bargains Auction Gateway has provided an easy way for people to find blindness-related items on EBay in dozens of categories. Today, we've extended this functionality to three additional EBay sites. The gateway's same useful features are now available for EBay Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. You can use links near the bottom of the page to change your country at any at any time. If you've never used the gateway before, it lets you search for items on EBay in categories ranging from braille printers to talking watches andcalculators.

More Bargains Now Available on Page 2
We're posting more and more bargains and news items to our site, so you may have missed something, especially if you haven't stopped by in awhile. Now, look for the page 2 link at the bottom of the deals on the home page. It's right above the "Most Popular" heading. It'll take you to another page with the next 50 news items so you can catch up. Also, don't forget about our RSS feed and Email newsletter, both available under the "Other Features" heading on the home page.
Problems with Daily Deals?
We are still hearing from people who are either having trouble subscribing or receiving our Daily Deals newsletter. If you fall into either of these categories, please send us a note so we can see what's going on.

We're glad to see a mainstream company recognized by blind and visually impaired computer users for their accessibility efforts.
Media: Blind Bargains on Main Menu Tuesday
We're now back from ATIA and ready to talk about it. Join J.J. and Matt on this Tuesday's Main Menu as we discuss all things ATIA and replay some of the audio interviews. We'll also answer your questions about the conference, the new technology we saw, or how much nicer the weather was in Orlando. Main Menu first airs from 8-10 PM Eastern, and then repeats every two hours after that. If you miss that, a podcast feed is also available.
Site Outage
As you may have noticed, our entire site was down for all of Thursday. We are now back online, albeit with a few missing deals from earlier this week. If you notice anything else that isn't working, please let us know. We'll be posting back our recent deals soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
